Welcome to #GenGeo Storytelling for Impact: Graphics. This is one course in the Storytelling for Impact program developed by National Geographic in partnership with Adobe. This program helps beginners develop the skills to create and share powerful stories with a purpose that could lead to action. In this course, you will work alongside a National Geographic Explorer to create your own infographic story that illuminates an important issue around our changing planet, and inspires action. This course has three parts to it: Session 1 challenges you to examine a few core ideas around the nature of storytelling through infographics.Session 2 guides you through the creation of your own infographic story, working in parallel with Kelsey Taylor, a National Geographic Explorer.Session 3 asks you to explore ways to take the knowledge and experience from this infographic storytelling process and expand it for greater impact. Throughout you will be guided by the overall mission of National Geographic “to illuminate and protect the wonder of our world.” Your story will illuminate an issue and challenge others to act. By the end of this course, you will have an infographic story in your portfolio of personal assets to share and build upon.
